A long while ago I wanted to take photos of vegetables sliced quite thin using a light table to backlight them. I never got around to that but one day I was playing with my old scanner (one with a lid that can be expanded slightly to easily allow books etc). And I had a thought, what if I used the scanner and not a light table. These are some of the images that resulted.
